Punjab Governor Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar says Pakistan believes in negotiated resolutions to all issues of the region.
Talking to Iranian Consulate General‚ Mohammad Hussain Bin Asadi in Lahore‚ he said Pakistan wants to strengthen ties with neighbour countries.
He said Iran-Pakistan gas pipeline project will be a milestone towards overcoming energy crisis.
Talking to a South Korean delegation‚ the governor said Pakistan wants to take benefit of South Korea's experience in various fields including education.
Iranian Consul General Mr. Hossain Bin Asadi called on Punjab governor Ch. Muhammad Sarwar at the Governor’s House, Lahore.
According to a handout issued here on Thursday, matters pertaining to bilateral affairs and prospects to boost two-way cooperation were discussed in the meeting.
The Punjab governor said that Pakistan and Iran had strong brotherly relations and these relationships were getting stronger day by day. He stressed upon enhancing bilateral trade on the basis of greater exchange of business delegation. He said that both countries would work on more mega projects, like Pak-Iran Gas Pipeline project in future.
Later, a 24-member delegation of the Mall Road Traders Association met Governor Ch. Muhammad Sarwar at the Governor House.
On the occasion, the governor said that the traders and businessman community was the real and valuable asset of Pakistan who despite many problems, were running the business activities thus playing pivotal role in strengthening the national economy. He said the government was fully aware about the problems of traders and would leave no stone unturned to solve these issues.
The governor said that the existing economic condition of the country demanded that prudent policies should be chalked out for the improvement and progress of industry, trade, agriculture, education and other economic sectors.
He also appreciated the services of business community who were working for the betterment of Pakistan while facing numerous difficulties.
